Trifles

The little one I babysit is turning one this weekend so the kids and I made her this kitten for a birthday gift.

The pattern is Pointy Kitty from Wee Wonderfuls and it is free.  Boba Fett christened her "Raspberries."

I also knitted up this darling heart for a Valentine gift,

I have been having fun doing a 30 day photo challenge on Facebook.  Today's photo was to be a picture of my biggest insecurity.  I immediately

identified my biggest insecurity but just couldn't find a photo to capture it so I got out the Petite Blythes and staged a lonely photo shoot.

Pretty adorable, pretty sad, pretty lonely.

This was so much  fun I think I should do it more often.

Speaking of Petite Blythes, I found another one that I just HAVE to have.  I had thought that we were good with the number of Petite Blythes we had because "Janie" (above) looks like me and "Greta" looks like Nutmeg and we also have 3 others to play with.  But over Christmas vacation I saw this little darling and she REALLY looks like Nutmeg.

 

I HAVE to have her, but she cost $75 at that time who knows how much I will have to pay if I ever am able to buy her.  She is called "Matryoshka Maiden" and if anyone ever sees her on a trip to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, where ever please get me one!

If we ever do get a Matryoshka Maiden she will be "my" doll until Nutmeg is much older.  We will probably name her Katya after the heroine we found in this book.

I couldn't post this little number until after Christmas because I needed a small model to wear it.
It is my own fly by the seat of my pants design, fully reversible with bunny prints on each side and aqua buttons for accent.
Nutmeg wanted to model it while wearing her Dorothy shoes and carrying my terry-cloth scotty dog in her basket.

Oh, and speaking of Dorothy Shoes...
Afton, you are a genius. I had a spare pair of white pumps for the "Betsies" and I covered them in sparkly red nail polish, whipped up a little felt Toto and we were in business.

There's No Place Like Cinderella's Ball

The light wasn't any better today so I went outside and tried to get shots in the sprinkling rain. They aren't much better but I offer them anyway.

Look out Little Red, there is a wolf behind you!

Cinderella was a bit of a headache and I wish I was happier with the result but the dress says "Cinderella" so I think the goal has been achieved.
Obviously, we need ruby red slippers so if anyone has some red Polly Pocket shoes you know where I live I will totally pay up to $2 for them.

I can't wait until Christmas! This is another gift I made for Nutmeg: a Little Red Riding Hood hood, a dress, a wolf and a Granny disguise.

These pictures were taken at noon today in Portland. There was NO light. I will try to get better pictures another day but in the meantime can we squeal together? Dirndl, angry eyebrows, wire rim glasses!

Someday Her Prince Will Come

This Petite Blythe Snow White dress had me in tears and depression Wednesday night. Thursday evening I had a new battle plan and was successful. I have high hopes for future dresses as I am narrowing in on a pattern.

The Seven Dwarfs were so simple. Originally, they were all to have beards but the first beard was so much work and looked only so-so and I decided one beard was enough. What do you think, do they all need beards?

Does anyone know where to get a 5" prince? The Blythes all want princes for dates. I would even settle for cowboys.

P.S. I need an apple about the size of a dried pea. Anyone?
