How to be Awesome? Write like Cjane.
Nutmeg, just moments after she was born, in my bedroom. Don't you just love her "hospital bracelet?" I had a matching one.
This birth story is the best I have ever read, and I have read a LOT of powerful birth stories. It takes skill to write a birth story like this. It is written in installments so scroll down to the last post and read up.
In my quest to be awesome I would like to be able to write as well as Cjane.
And while I am at it, I will add:
How to be awesome? Have a homebirth. It's like hiking to the top, totally worth it.

That was a cool story--her way of telling it was so funny (while still being so serious and so real). The part that I liked the most, I admit, is that her midwife was my midwife for my first three pregnancies. I went through three miscarriages with her, and was sad that I never got to deliver a baby with her...but she was (is) a great lady. :)
Hey there. I found your blog through BlogHer, and was so intrigued by your title. (I may steal it someday). I totally agree about Cjane's birth story. I wept! She's wonderful. Your blog is so fun! I homeschooled for 11 years and have had two of my four babies at home also. I love your analogy of driving to the top vs. hiking to the top. So true! Anyway, I'll keep reading, because I think you're awesome!
