Someone Should Take Away My Pie Pans

It is no secret that I am pie crust challenged.  I make tasty fillings but the presentation is bad, bad, bad. No matter what I do my pies are UG-LY!
Lately I have tried buying pre-made crusts already in the pan. No improvement.
Today I even  bought the Marie Callender's crusts for my marion berry pie.

Fail.  Please, someone put me out of my misery.  Why do I have to like pie so much?

I see the merit in wanting it to look good, but if it tastes good...who cares? Pies are for eating, not looking at. I say keep the pans and continue baking ugly, delicious pies.

I agree that your pie does look delish, if not pretty. I try pie about every 10 years. It takes me that long to get over the anger and hate in my soul that pie making causes.

Don't give up! Pies are awesome and I'm sure yours taste amazing! Willing to try a new crust recipe?? Here's one that always works for me:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup veg. oil
5 Tbsp. water
Mix with a fork. Divide in half. Roll between two sheets of wax paper. Peel off top paper, flip over onto pie plate, peel away paper. Fit to plate and trim edges. Do same for top and seal edges when using a top crust by crimping edges together. Cut slits in top and bake.
Hope this helps - and if not - it'll still taste good. :)

Looks delish! You might have just filled it to full.
When you come we will try again. We will make you a pie maker yet.
