I Can't Take the Pressure!

I love that I have blog fans. But I can't handle the pressure. I have been very busy the last few days cleaning for Thanksgiving festivities and entertaining my folks, I haven't had time to blog, but my fans are so disappointed that I am not blogging, I have been ordered to sit and blog but I can't do it on demand people. See Samurai Mom stressing about blogging on demand.

I think my family makes me a little silly I am actually contemplating getting a dog, a cut little Scottie I think. My dad informs me that they don't shed. I have always said "No animals in the house." I am not an animal person but the boys deserve a dog.

Oh man, I feel your struggle with the dog thing. I am allergic to dogs and cats, but mostly cats. The kids and Dan keep telling me all of the people who have allergies and still have dogs. Well, I just keep telling them no way. I feel horrible, especially for Abby, she is such an animal lover! As for blogging...take a break! You deserve it! It isn't about quantity, it is about quality (a great comment left to me on my cooking blog). Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

get a dog that doesn't shed and is mild-mannered...preferably one that's a few years old and already housebroken. It's easier that way. :)

If you're gone for a while, you can write a few posts in advance and have them scheduled to post throughout your absence, OR you can just put up a message that says "I;m spending time with my family this week, I'll be back _____"
Seriously, nobody can fault you for taking time off. We all do it. I'm a post scheduler so people don't know when I'm gone...but I'm gone alright!!!

You know my feeling about dogs. That said, my parents have Schnauzers and they love them--short hair, generally--small--good with kids...

Only get a dog if YOU can handle taking care of it. No matter how helpful the rest of the house promises to be, you'll be the one doing most of the work.

Do I have to be the only voice of reason here? Don't get a dog. Don't, don't, don't. If you need more encouragement than that, I invite you to come to my home and stand at my kitchen sink where I have a lovely view of a walking path. People walk with their dogs all the time. They walk in the freezing rain, in the snow, at 5am, when it's 104 degrees, during the locust plague...people are walking.

I guess walking at inconvenient times is not the biggest reason not to get a dog. Look out my window a bit longer and you will see what I mean: People bending over with little plastic bags and picking up...Oh I can't even say it.

This is how I see it: I have cleaned and still do clean more, "you know", than I ever thought imaginable. They seriously need a mom handbook and chapter 2, right after chapter 1 "Being a mom is the best and your kids are the cutetest," would be: "Poop Everywhere and How to Clean it Up While Keeping a Small Shred of Dignity."

And then there is Number 1, which I won't go into because it seems that Number 2 trumps number 1 every time. And the furniture! Don't get me started.

With 3 boys, I am pooped-out (pun intended) from cleaning up the #1 and #2, throwing throws over my sofa to hide the rips and stains, cleaning up little bits of shredded paper (nesting?) and much more. If I thought I'd have one more poop-maker to clean up after....

....sorry, i had to go get a paper sack to breathe in because of the hyperventilating.

And did I mention we have amphibians and rodents in the house that I was promised I would NOT have to care for, but guess what? I'm caring for them! And they stink.

I think I need a nap.
