These Boots Were Made for Awesome

It all started when I saw this post back in January. Obviously, I needed Welly Warmers but first I needed Wellies! I then proceeded to learn that Wellies are a) expensive and b) won't fit my generous calves.
Imagine my excitement when I saw these darlings at the scary Goodwill this afternoon. The tops looked big, like they might actually fit. Since we are close friends, dear readers I will tell you the awful, gross truth.

I put my bare foot into a dark hole of a boot shaft in the scary Goodwill.

Thus we see I am a) a dedicated bargain hunter b) a fool for style c) very brave and d) awesome! They fit. I paid for them by the pound, about 5 bucks or so.

Now we will begin the hunt for the perfect flannel or flannels to make Welly Warmers. Muddy Oregon winters prepare. Are you ready boots? Start walkin'.

The New Look

First there was Dior with the "New Look" fitted jacket, nipped in waist and a full skirt.
The New Look marked an abrupt change in fashion and one of my personal favorite periods in costume.

DownEast Basics has been having a LOT of blogger giveaways lately. From what I can gather DownEast Basics sends a blogger some clothes to try out which she ends up loving because who wouldn't love free DownEast Basics Clothes?

Then the blogger holds a give away on her blog where the readers leave a comment on what they love most at DownEast Basics and other things like becoming a follower of the blog or a fan of DownEast Basics on Facebook (which I am of course.)

Then the winners are chosen and they get something from DownEast Basics. I enter all of these contests and I haven't won yet, and believe me there are things that I want from DownEast Basics.

I don't know how DownEast Basics is choosing these bloggers. Are the bloggers coming to DownEast Basics or is DownEast Basics approaching the bloggers? Are there criteria, do the bloggers need to have a certain audience or number of readers or followers? I don't know. All I know is that I want a piece of this action.

Fashionista

This morning Nutmeg dressed herself and then came to assist me in my wardrobe selection. While I was deciding on a hair accessory she found this ribbon on the ground and insisted I tie it around her waist.

I think she just eclipsed my fashion sense.
